Quarantiki - Mikey's Banana Hammock

Saturday, July 11, 2020

Decided to modify my creation of Joey's Orange Speedo by switching the grapefruit juice for pineapple juice. That means the new drink is one part amber rum (I used Plantation), one part pineapple juice, one part orange curaçao, with 1/2 ounce falernum, and topped off with club soda. It's quite refreshing. The base of the drink is The Hula Joe. I gonna call it Mikey's Banana Hammock in honor of my friend Mike.

By the way, Dale and I took a wonderful walk around Lake B'de Maka Ska today. It was much less humid than it's been lately which made for a wonderful experience.

The Evolution of Joe's Signature Tiki Cocktail

Friday, June 14, 2019

Warren's drink is on the left and mine on the right.

Warren and I had dinner tonight. We both had rum in our pre-dinner cocktails. Warren's typical cocktail includes Myer's rum, club soda, and some cherry syrup mixture he makes himself.

Behold, the Hula Joe

I've been working on my signature tiki cocktail for a while now and I think I've finally come up with the final product. It includes one part rum (I used Myer's), one part orange curaçao (I used Pierre Ferrand, my favorite), and one part pineapple juice (Dole). I think I'm gonna call it the Hula Joe.
