Psycho Suzi's - 1st Visit of 2020

Saturday, January 25, 2019

Dale and I took Mom to pick up some chairs she had had refinished at a place near Psycho Suzi's where we stopped on the way home.

Dale needed to be told to leave the Maori outside alone.

Dale and I are doing a dry January. Mom is not so she ordered a beer. Dale got a non-alcoholic beer. I got the one tiki drink on the menu that doesn't contain booze. It's called the Virgin Cockatiel and according to the menu it contains coconut, ginger, and a blend of fruit. I found it to be quite tasty.

The wontons at Suzi's are fantastic. Mom loves 'em so we got a couple orders. We all talked for a while and had a great time.

Before leaving I of course stopped by the gift store. I bought one of the tumblers that Suzi's is now using for their drinks instead of tiki mugs.

The gentleman who rang me up asked if I'd like to see one of their limited edition discontinued mugs. Of course I said yes. When he brought it out I reached for it in my excitement thinking he would let me hold it. He wouldn't. The mug was of a shrunken head and it was awesome. He told me it would cost $60. I declined the offer but now I'm thinking I should have gotten it. Maybe next time.

7th Psycho Suzi's Visit for 2019

Wednesday, July 31, 2019

Lovely night out for dinner at Psycho Suzi's. Cindi and Maggie scored us a lovely table on the patio.

I wore one of the pin's I bought at the Black Lagoon Room booth at the Big Kahuna Bash this past Saturday. I felt so cool.

I started with a Psychotic Suzi. Cindi got the Crummy Scoundrel and Dale got beer.

Dinner was lovely and Cindi and I had another round of the same drinks.

Cindi brought me a lovely pink lei to wear. It went really well with my light blue aloha shirt.

If Dale and Maggie don't look quite as merry as Cindi and I it's only because they weren't drinking tiki drinks.

Birthday Weekend - Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge Part 2

Friday, August 10, 2018

After the Crummy Scoundrel I ordered the Hawaiian Surf pizza and for my second tiki cocktail I went with the Evil Headhunter which the drink menu describes as follows, "Lured into the jungle by wafts of dark rum, pineapple, fresh line, almonds, and mysterious drums, you trip head first into a hole. You know what happens next.  Circa 1959."

Birthday Weekend - Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge Part 1

Friday, August 10, 2018

As part of my birthday weekend I took myself to lunch at Psycho Suzi's. I started out with one of my favorite drinks there, the Crummy Scoundrel. The drink menu describes it as follows, "An absurd blend of amusing flavors and pirate-like fun... but with no pirates. Blackberry, hibiscus, banana, fresh lime. Circa 1972." The drink also has something carbonated in it which makes it especially refreshing.

I heard some cool surf music playing and when I Shazamed it it turned out to be an awesome surf medley titled, what else, Surf Medley by Junior Brown. Of course I downloaded it and added it to my surf playlist on iTunes.

Psycho Suzi's - Art-Thou-Luau

Saturday, May 19, 2018

It had been on the books for a while that Dale and I would join Maggie and Cindi tonight at Psycho Suzi's for drinks and dinner. When we made the plans we had no idea that Art-A-Whirl would be going on which made for more challenging parking and a more crowded restaurant than usual for an early 5:00 start time.

Suzi's parallel event for Art-A-Whirl was called Art-Thou-Luau and featured dinner and drink specials and an outside tent with bands and a dog contest.  Dale and I arrived a little before Cindi and Maggie and we scored a primo table.

I started with a Psychotic Suzi which is one of my favorites. I convinced Cindi to try a Crummy Scoundrel, one she hadn't tried before, which she rather liked. One of the specials for dinner was mac and cheese which we all, except Maggie, went for. It was divine.

During dinner we noticed many people with straw hats which reminded me of the one the Hawaiian Punch mascot wears. I decided I need one. Cindi wanted one too. We figured we'd be able to buy them in the parking lot tent.

After dinner we decided to check out the band outside. I found the straw hats at a concession stand and when I asked the gal how much they were, she told me they were FREE. We each got red ones which worked out well since tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday at church and it's traditional to wear red. Cindi said she would preach with hers on.

The band play when we made it outside was called the Blinds and they were a bunch of rockin' fun.

A good time was had by all (and yes, I bought the tiki mug my drink came in).

Psycho Suzi Run

Wednesday, April 25, 2018
Had another meeting at the union hall after school today so I stopped at Psycho Suzi's for a drink or two.  Started with the Psycho Zombie as I'd been thinking about it for the past few days.

I arrived at about 4 p.m. so the place was pretty empty, however there were folks sitting out on the patio.

For my second drink I decided to try something new and went with the Siren's Call. I had them add the mug to my bill.
The drink is described as follows.
Recently, Mike had informed be of an app that can listen to music and identify it. I texted him to ask what it was and he replied say it was called Shazam. I downloaded it and had a lot of fun with it. The bar was playing lots of surf music so I got a few song titles through the app I can add to a playlist.
All in all, fun visit. Good to see some sunshine and people on the patio and feel some warmth.
